Acknowledging Normal Events

Acknowledging Normal Events

A normal event is isolated ONLY to regular activity. If you are watching the event and time is spent watching to decide if it is normal, you ALWAYS escalate it.

In the VIDEO TAB of the Camp Website, you will want to log in with your VMS credentials.

When the clients system is armed and the cameras receive a triggered event, the upload of the event or events will pop up on your screen along with icons on each that allow you to do the following:

-pause while playing back

-change the volume if applicable

-set the playback rate

-stretch the video

-locate the camera on the map

-take video snapshot

-show camera in thumbnail grid

-event search

-toggle full screen

Hovering over the icons on the event will display their use. From the same event window you’ll have the option to Go Live on that camera in the top right.

Whichever event is highlighted (you can do this by clicking on it), you will see a history of alerts you are able to toggle through at the bottom of your screen corresponding to that camera.

After reviewing, if the event is normal you can simply click OK and it will be disregarded.
You also have the option to acknowledge all the events in the bottom right hand corner of your screen.

**The alarm portal should not be for spending time viewing an event, you want to automatically choose to escalate it and then watch the video inside the incident to determine the course of action**
It is better to mark something as suspicious, have it be nothing and close the incident then to mark it as a normal event!
