Registering Cameras to an Integrator Account

After Installing the P&P Module onto the camera you must add it to your Integrator Account so you can then assign it to a customer.

You can Register

  • P&P Cameras
  • ONVIF Cameras
  • Generic Connection Cameras
  1. Navigate to vmsadmin.localsecurity.org
  2. Log in using your Previously Created Credentials from the Integrator or account admin
  3. Navigate to the Cameras Tab
  4. Click Add button
  5. Choose Options from Dropdown
    • Your P&P Cameras -> Register Camera but don't assign to specific Customer
    • Customer Names -> Choose a specific Customer to automatically assign this camera to 
    • Create New Customer -> Takes you to the Create a Customer Interface, then you can refresh and choose Customer to assign to
  6. Choose what Camera type
    • P&P Camera -> See below
    • ONVIF Camera -> See below
    • Generic Device -> See below

 

 

REGISTERING P&P CAMERA

used to connect to cameras which have the compatible P&P Module installed

  1. Select P&P Camera Button
  2. If a New Camera, follow below, if previously registered, choose Existing Camera and move to Step 6
  3. Enter Registration Code (search "find the registration code" in your local security knowledge base if you're having issues with this step)
  4. Enter Camera name -> Description name for the location of a camera (if applicable)
  5. Choose Login Credentials for camera
    1. Default -> admin/123456
    2. Custom -> Enter previously assigned Username, Enter previously assigned Password
  6. Choose Payment Plan for this camera ( if applicable) (search for payment plans in your knowledge base to get more detailed information)
  7. Create to save the Camera registration information

 

REGISTER ONVIF CAMERA

Used to connect to ONVIF Compatible cameras

  1. Select ONVIF Camera Button
  2. To Connect an ONVIF Camera, ensure the proper settings have been configured on the camera itself and the Router (see THIS LINK) 
  3. Enter the required information on the Setup Page
    1. Http Access URL -> Direct Link
    2. Http Port -> The required Port connecting through Router
    3. Rtsp Port ->  Required RTSP Port
    4. Username -> the Username to directly log into this camera on site
    5. Password -> The password to directly log into this camera on site
    6. Confirm Password -> Confirm above correct password
    7. Camera Name -> The descriptive name of this camera for the Admin Portal notes
    8. Description ->  In-Depth explanation of camera specifics for the Admin Portal Notes
    9. Quality Preset -> A balance between Quality of Picture and Mb/s of data sent
  4. Click Create to Save Connection Information

 

REGISTER GENERIC CAMERA

Used to Connect to Public-Facing Video Streams

  1. Select Generic Device Button
  2. Enter Required Information on page 1
    1. Camera Name -> Camera Descriptive Name
    2. Manufacturer -> Camera Company
    3. Model -> Model of the Camera
    4. Description -> In-Depth explanation of camera specifics
  3. Enter Required Information on Page 2
    1. Video Source URL -> Public URL to connect to Video Feed
    2. Video Source Port -> The  required Port connecting through the Router
    3. HTTP Access Url -> Direct Link
    4. HTTP Port -> The  required Port connecting through the Router
    5. Username -> The Username to directly log into this camera on site 
    6. Password -> The password to directly log into this camera on site 
    7. Confirm Password -> Confirm above correct password 
  4. Click Create to Save Connection Information
