Explanation of Individual Cameras Interface

1.0 INFO

This tab has all the basic information about the camera. None of this is changeable, it is a one-stop page for information about the camera. it includes:

2.0 GENERAL

The General Tab also has basic Information with a couple of Modifiable Sectors


 

3.0 QUALITY

Quality Settings are your primary Settings to affect your Data Use. Each choice is a balance between Quality and Data Cost. Generally the higher the Quality, the more Data per second used, and the lower the Quality, the less Data transmitted per second.  

Here is an excellent calculator for a good approximation. This is done in Megabites per second, 8 Bits in a Byte

The Following are the settings that can be modified directly from the Tab


 

4.0 RECORDING

This Tab configures the Recorded Storage Settings. The Camera has to be enabled and Online to be able to Edit


5.0 ANALYTICS 

Analytics is one of the most important and most value-building areas of camera configuration. As such it has its own special training section. Search for analytics in your knowledge base for more information. 


6.0 LOCATION

This is a quick snapshot of where this Camera is located. The location is taken originally from the Customer the camera is registered to. You can edit this information on this Location Tab as needed. 

Setting a correct location for every camera is important if the user plans on using the Maps feature in the video portal or time-lapse will be recorded from this camera. Location is used to calculate sunrise and sunset times to establish times when to start and stop image capture for long term time-lapse. 




7.0 EVENTS

Events are Active Recorded events setup using Advanced Analytics. They can have multiple different examples like Motion, Human, Vehicle, Directional Motion, etc. The Events tab will allow you to quickly search for events based on Time, or Period.


  1. Events Tab 
  2. By Time Tab -> Search events by Time
    • In the last X Time -> Choose Up to the last 24 hours
  3. By Period ->Search events by Beginning and End Day
    • By Start Date and End Date ->  Choose up to 1 month at a time, with 1-year history
  4. Timezone -> Choose for reporting if it uses Local Computer time or UTC Standard Time
  5. Entries/Page -> How many Events to see per page
  6. Reset Filter -> you can filter Logs by Columns, this will reset to default
  7. Columns -> What columns to view on the main log page
  8. Reset Settings -> Reset Column choice settings
  9. Event -> Short Descriptive Sentence about the Event
  10. Event Type -> The Advanced Analytics rule that forced the event
  11. Message -> The Operator Response to the Event
  12. Date and Time ->  The Time and Date the event occurred





8.0 LOGS

This is used to track any changes made to the camera settings themselves

  1. Show Logs by Count -> Shows a certain number of logs in reverse on the specific day chosen 
  2. Show Logs by Time ->  Shows All the Logs in the Last Number of hours for this Login, Current maximum 24 hours 
  3. Show Logs by Period -> Shows all the logs between a Start Date  and an End Date
  4. Timezone -> Choose for reporting if it uses Local Computer time or UTC Standard Time
  5. Log Settings -> Particular Settings for each Log option
    • Count -> Choose how many Logs
    • Count -> Choose What Day you want to see ( maximum 1 year in history)
    • Time -> Choose How many hours and minutes previous you want to see total ( maximum 24 hours)
    • Period -> Choose Starting Day (maximum 1 year earlier start date)
    • Period -> Choose Ending Day (maximum 30 days total)
  6. Reset Filters -> Logs can be filtered by Message, Operation, User, Customer, IP, and Location. This resets entered filters.
  7. Columns ->Choose Columns to be Seen in the logs
    • Date and Time -> See Below
    • Message -> See Below
    • Operation -> See Below
    • User -> See Below
    • Customer -> See Below
    • Customer ID -> Unique Identifier for the customer this camera is assigned to
    • IP -> See Below
    • Location (By IP) -> See Below
    • User Agent -> More in-depth information on the device used 
  8. Reset Settings -> Resets Column Settings to Default
  9. Refresh -> Refresh the Log to see any changes
  10. Date and Time -> The date and time the changes were logged
  11. Message -> Sentence explaining what the log is about
  12. Operation -> The name of the Operation 
  13. User Changes -> The User who changed the account
  14. Customer -> The Customer Account
  15. IP -> Logged IP of User who created the Log addition
  16. Location (by IP) -> Estimated location of above IP (if possible)



9.0 PLAN

This is used to modify the payment plan for each individual camera. 

There are a multitude and you can choose multiple, depending on your needs to add features to each camera




10.0 DELETE

Delete will delete a camera entirely from the Integrator Account. You will then have to re-register the camera and follow all required steps to re-add it to any customer.




11.0 TROUBLESHOOTING

This Tab is used for helping diagnose and fix problems with cameras. You can fix the connection, quality, analytics, field of view, field of activation, and more. 

Modifying settings on the camera can make your camera and connection not workEnsure proper care is taken when making changes to camera settings
